To say the song exudes pure confidence and sex appeal would be an understatement. “Sneeze on the track, I’m a blow” being the hook of the song is so genius and fitting. The song itself is incredibly addictive upon first listening and leaves you wanting more. I wouldn’t complain if another verse was added
When discussing the song with the rapper, I was introduced to her creative process of writing the song and the concept behind it. The song itself is a velvet blend of R&B and HipHop which is reminiscent of the music released in the early 2000s.
CHIMA Unveils Her Process
Chad: What was the energy like during the creative process of “Blow?”
CHĪMA: The creative process for blow was very trippy. I was actually lighting up in my car playing the instrumental. I created the hook in my car and fell in love with the direction I could see it going. From there I dreamed up some crazy nostalgic vibes and made it happen. I remember running upstairs and just recording the verses in my bedroom. It didn’t feel like work. Everything came together how it should’ve.
Chad: This song is a whole vibe; I love the sexy confidence within the lyrics and I enjoyed the flow changes throughout the song. If you could have someone on an extended remix, who would it be?
CHĪMA: Thank you! I appreciate you listening and letting the music grow with you. We don’t do enough of that anymore. I think Missy Elliot, Andre 3000 or Kendrick Lamar would easily body this record on a remix. I would be honored as fuck.
Chad: For the first-time listeners of Blow, how would you describe this song in 3 words?
CHĪMA: Catchy. Bold. Appetizing.
CHĪMA’s summation of the song is completely accurate to the vibe I felt after listening to it various times. I fully agree with the words she chose to describe her song, “Catchy. Bold. Appetizing.” If you don’t want to take our words for it, listen to the song and tell us your thoughts.
