The long reigning Queen of Rap has made a major announcement on Queen radio that she created her own record label under Republic Records. Minaj has made it known that she planned on starting her label over a decade ago through her music. Well, in 2023 she made those ambitions a reality. She hasn’t announced the name of the label yet, but we do have clues and hints on some factors involving the label.
While we don’t know the official name of Nicki Minaj’s label, we do know that the president of it is Wendy Goldstein. We do know that she officially signed Tate Kobang, London Hill, Ghanian singer Nana Fofie and more. She highlighted the importance of artistic and genre diversity within her label. She aims to encourage her artists to be unique, have a distinct sound and have their own vibe. Music aside, she also expressed that her label is racially diverse.
Nicki expressed having more surprises in stock for her label and future releases. I’m interested in what the label’s name is and who’s going to officially be signed to it.
