In the last 10 years or so, the natural physique has fallen out of fashion, especially within hip-hop. However, it seems that the new girlies aren’t having it. Women like Doja Cat, GloRilla, Rico Nasty, and Doechii are all rappers who stand tall in their own skin, despite the pandemic of BBLs around them. Flo Milli is in the ranks of these groundbreaking women who are carving out a niche for sexy petite gayls.
The 23 year old rapper hit the ground running in 2019 with her “Beef FloMix” and has since dropped a mixtape, her first studio album in 2022, and several singles every year to ensure that she makes her mark.
“Nasty Dancer,” released on February 17, features Milli in some risqué, albeit classy, lingerie and high heels, posing in front of two side by side mirrors, and fully showing off her natural posterior right there on the single’s cover art.
The track, which was produced by OG Parker, Jon $K Mcgee, and D. Sheats, and mastered by Florian “Flo” Ongonga and Chris Athens, oozes an old-school, drum machine vibe that calls to mind the break dancing era of Hip-Hop that dominated the 1980’s.
The song follows a verse/chorus structure, rather than starting with the catchy hook, setting the tone of the song with the first two lines of the first verse, stating:
I make him do what I want
But he like it when I take over
Further along in the first verse, Milli shows off her lyrical wit with the line:
In love with the cat, give him Doja […]
And:
He can’t get enough of me, I’m a mood
The addictive chorus comes in exactly 30 seconds into the song, repeating the phrase:
My shit just like coco, make all the niggas go loco
All the niggas go loco, make all the niggas go loco
And honestly, this subtly highlights the amount of creativity that Milli possesses, since the title of the track isn’t mentioned anywhere in the song (whereas I, personally, would have named it “Coco”.) This isn’t the only banger where Milli’s title refers more to the vibe and less to the lyrics directly, either. “Roaring 20’s”, which was released on January 15, 2021, employs the same tactic.
“Nasty Dancer” is a sweet and succinct “freaky” song that embodies a very powerful message in a very short amount of time as the track clocks in at 2 minutes and 17 seconds.
Surprisingly, Milli is able to lay down 3 verses in under 3 minutes, spitting dominating bars all throughout the track, with memorable lines like:
I ain’t been countin’ my haters, but, I swear, I’m countin’ this cash (Cheese)
(verse 2)
And:
I can’t love on no nigga who tellin’ lies
He wanna come over and catch a vibe (Ayy)
Finally, the song closes out with a seductive outro as Milli coos about the ways she’s going to let her man please her one last time, closing out with the shockingly stunning stanza:
Bad bitch make it twerk
He know I’ma put in work (Come on)
I ain’t really gotta flirt (Come on)
He gon’ beat it ’til it squirt (Ooh, ooh)
Overall, this “freaky” song seems to have been delicately crafted to be as classy as it is sexy. Combine this track with the “Conceited” Remix that was released on January 27, 2023, and Flo Milli is sure to end up on many striptease and twerkout playlists this year.
And all this activity makes me dying to know if we are getting a new studio album this year.
