The UK hip hop scene has been on fire in recent years, and one of the most exciting aspects of it has been the emergence of talented female rappers. In this blog post, we shout out a few of my favourites and give them the recognition they deserve.
Ivorian Doll
First up, we have Ivorian Doll. I’ve been rooting for her since she was rapping with Abigail Asante, and her flow has really improved. Her latest release “Petty” had my jaw open, and she has a genuine stage presence, energy, and fanbase.
AE
Next, we have AE (A + E). These girls have been making waves with their smooth flow and catchy beats. Their latest drop, “Tell Me,” just got a music video, and I’ve been really enjoying it. If you enjoy a more laid-back vibe on your playlist, make sure you check them out.
ENNY
Enny has been on fire since 2021 with Peng Black Girls. I enjoyed seeing her work, and her smooth and clean flows. She recently dropped a remix to “Champagne Problems” with Unknown T, and I was really excited by this collaboration. In my opinion, she’s one of the coldest rappers in the UK right now.
ShaSimone
ShaSimone is another artist to keep an eye on in 2023. She released her album “SIMMA DOWN” in September 2022, and recently dropped the visual to Top 5. I really love Sha’s rapping, and I’ve seen her live – the energy is really there. Keep an eye out for her in 2023 because if her past freestyles and releases are anything to go by, she is indeed “Top 5” and a big problem.
Conclusion
These are just a few of the amazing female rappers representing the UK right now. Be sure to give them a listen and follow NO GHOSTWRITER to support women in hip hop. The UK hip hop scene is growing stronger every day, and these women are at the forefront of it. Let’s make sure they get the recognition they deserve.
