What initially feels like a mid-tempo R&B song would quickly shift to a more aggressive hip-hop track.
Firstly, we can’t discuss this song without taking note of how similar his cadence is to 2 Chainz and possibly Meek Mill. I find myself wanting him to transition to 2 Chainz’s songs “I love Them Strippers,” “Realize” or Nicki Minaj’s Meek Mill featured track “Big Daddy.”
2 Chainz comparison aside Marko’s song, “Riot” is very wild. He partners with female rapper Katie Bandz whose verse perfectly fits the theme and flow of the song. She is aggressive and adds extra heat to the song. Her flow contrasts his but they work together.
“Don’t come up short on my bag Imma set your city on fire
I say lame nigga be quiet, stupid bitch be quiet
I ain’t with that talking shit in the presence of a real bitch.”
Marko finds his pocket within the beat and rides the same flow throughout it. It’s very reminiscent of 2 Chainz or Meek Mill but he has his own energy that he brought to the song. His bars are aggressive and hard yet they’re not too technical.
The song has some replay value, and it is reminiscent of some songs in the 2010s. I enjoyed the mixture of the R&B beat and hard-hitting Hip-hop element. “Riot” is a good song that I’d recommend for people looking for upcoming talent.
