Hip-Hop veteran and legend, Lil Wayne has earned his first diamond plaque for smash hit single ‘Lollipop.’
RIAA confirms Weezy’s diamond status with over 10,000,000 US certifications. Lollipop released back in March of 08′ and it lingered on the Billboard Hot 100 for 5 weeks. And quickly became Best Rap Song at the Grammys.
In recent weeks, social media, TikTok awoke the hit “Lollipop” and it became one of the top tracks on the platform. It’s like we’re back in the 2000s again but with better technology.
Lil Wayne christened ‘Lollipop” as lead single to Carter III, and the album sold close to 450,000 copies in just one day. However, Carter III pulled over 1 million copies in its first week. This if you will remember, was back in the hard copy era. Just pure single sales, no streams.
