The beat for Bbyafricka’s track “Why Me” starts off sounding like a nursery song but abruptly shifts into a hard-hitting hip-hop beat.
Bbyafricka is back with braggadocios yet a short-played song. “Why Me” is around 1 minute and 22 seconds long but it is jam-packed with metaphors, memorable punchlines, spit-fire rapping speeds, and her signature rap tone.
She raps about knowing her worth, and how people fall short of life without her. When you listen to this catchy song, you’ll notice that although it is a short song—it is filled with informative moments of her life. She references a range of situations, sex, money, vulnerability, and loneliness in her song.
“I feel alone but I got angels all behind me.”
Her song isn’t one of my favorites among her discography currently, but her lyricism still wins me over on the track. At moments, the beat or her backing vocals seems to overstep her lead vocals. But overall, the track is a good listen, the lyrical content surprisingly has depth considering the length of the song and it’s good for a freestyle. I’d rate it a 3/5.
