Fatou takes on the world and South Korea with her PWAPF mixtape!
Fatou is a 27-year-old rapper/singer whose family is originally from Senegal but currently resides in Belgium. She moved to South Korea to pursue a career in modeling and music. DR Entertainment signed her and invited her to be the rapper in their girl group BlackSwan.
On August 19th she dropped a 3-track mixtape titled, ‘PWAPF (Psycho With A Pretty Face).’ Gucci (PWAPF), Lingo (Stunna) and Castle Key (Roll) which would serve as the lead track with a music video.
“You think you ready to walk in ma shows,
I be the better b, be the better c
Casually pop on the news.”
‘Castle Key’ is a drill track that is complimented by her deep husky voice. This track is a confidence booster where anyone could rap along and feel like they’re the best at whatever they do. It touches on her European roots, blending into the drill genre.
With this mixtape being so short, it’s difficult to say which track shines and what doesn’t. Each song appeals to different hip-hop audiences, all while maintaining cohesion throughout the project. The blend of languages also flows on each track, you almost don’t notice that she’s speaking Korean phrases.
PWAPF is definitely a good listen and refreshing to hear from someone in the international Kpop scene. Fatou’s project earns a 4.5/5 rating. My critique is, that I wish it were longer.
