Nicki Minaj recently followed what looks to be a rising new Hip Hop Artist, London Hilll. So of course, we have to dig in and find out what this hidden gem is really about.
Who is London Hilll?
London Hilll is another New Yorker from the Bronx. She was born and bred in the “Boogie Down Bronx.” She alludes herself to ‘”Ms.Write & Style My Own Shit”. I scrolled through her social media pages and garnered that she has a unique sense of style. It’s very colorful, fashionable, and reflects who she is.
She isn’t just unique through her fashion style. Her Hip-Hop flow immediately denounces her from the rest of the new invasion of female rappers.
How the stage name, London Hilll, came about is through her adoration of Lauryn Hill and the Spice Girls. She said in her interview with Kazi Magazine, “ I was always obsessed with the artist Lauryn Hill and the Spice Girls so I took the last name from Lauryn Hill, and you know the Spice Girls has London on lock.”
London Hilll And Her Contributions
New York artists are taking over the Hip Hop music scene this decade. Although London Hilll is relatively new in the commercial side of Hip Hop industry. What she has released emanates a bold statement and automatically reserves a place for her in the scene.
My favorite songs from her have to be ‘Wah Do Dem‘, Respect, No Hook, and Gassed Up.
Gassed Up is her latest beneficence and made me fall in love with her instantly. This song is truly a very New York sound, with confidence, rawness, and low-key bully lyrics.
You got these b**hes gassed up
Why they ain’t make it that far
Y’all really think these b**hes rapping cause they look and rap hard
Think these b**hes want work
But really doing bad jobs
only mc w a hammer
Time to bang at that Bob
What? Miss Girl, tell me more! I am genuinely enthused about what her next drop will sound like.
London Hilll you easily have a fan in me.
